Scars? Sunspots? Stretchmarks?
Microneedling: it might sound a bit scary, but what is it and should it strike fear into your heart?
So what is it? Microneedling uses small needles to cause tiny punctures in the skin. Judy Robson who regularly performs the treatment at Montpellier Beauty, describes the procedure as minimally invasive, as it doesn’t puncture the skin as deep as something like Botox. Instead the microchannels in the skin encourages the natural healing and repair process, something which can slow down as we age.
What can it be used for?
- Scars including acne scarring
- Deep cleanse the skin
- Local anaesthetic cream (for deeper procedures only)
- Microneedling takes place in the desired area
- A soothing mask reduces redness and calms the skin
Stray FM’s Beth Parsons investigated this beauty trend with Judy from Montpellier Beauty as Microneedling became the focus on the Health and Wellbeing Show.
